Trish Derraugh
Ellesmere Port and Neston

Trish was born and raised in Liverpool. In her teens she and her parents moved to Frodsham in Cheshire and later to Bromborough on the Wirral. As a young adult, she lived to Manchester and then moved away from the North West to towns in Northern Ireland; Berkshire and Somerset before returning closer to her roots - living in Port Sunlight for 14 years prior to settling in Neston in 2002 where she lives with her partner Phil, who is an industrial chemist working in Ellesmere Port, and three cats.

Trish has had a varied career and experienced the turbulance of the private sector (finance, construction, manufacturing, housing). In 2011 she became a town councillor in Neston and is currently Chair of the Planning & Environment Committee. A keen environmentalist and supporter of renewable energy, she is also Chair of the Council's Greening Working Group.

Always keen to "get involved and make a difference" Trish successfully campaigned with the Port Sunlight Residents Association to prevent a development of apartments in the village. Since living in Neston she succeeded in getting a 30 m.p.h. speed limit introduced at Raby Village and there is news that her efforts in lobbying for a 40 m.p.h. speed limit along a local rural road are about to be rewarded.

Trish joined the Liberal Democrat Party in 2010 because they are the most progressive of the main political parties; she wants to see reform and a fairer voting system in which everyone's vote will count.

The constituency of Ellesmere Port and Neston is a true mix of both urban and rural and Trish believes that the depth of her experience in the 'real world' makes her the best candidate to represent all residents.
