Robert Thompson
Chester

Born and raised in Chester, Robert has represented the local community at almost every level.

His work has taken him to the Parish, City and Borough Council and he currently sits as Councillor for the Hoole area of the Chester constituency. Further afield, Robert also fought the neighboring Eddisbury constituency at the general election in 2010 and beat Labour into second place.

Robert has also served as a Director of Chester & District Housing Trust as well as a Chester based charity supporting homeless young people. Currently, he is Trustee of Hoole Community Centre and a school governor at Hoole Primary School.

In a long career spanning 30 years working in the chemical industry Robert retired as INEOS ChlorVinyls HR Director in 2007 and now lives with his partner Rose and has two grown up children.

He believes his experience of industry (he worked for an international business with assets all over the world), of industrial relations, of the housing sector and of charities give him an enviable bank of knowledge that can make a real difference to the people of Chester.

He hopes his deep understanding of Chester, its opportunities and its problems, will serve the city well.
