Candidate for Welwyn Hatfield

Anawar Miah is Labour's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for his home seat of Welwyn Hatfield for the general elections in 2015.

A Barrister of 15 years Anawar has lived in Welwyn Hatfield since 2005 with his wife and 4 young children.

Anawar Miah was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in 1998. Anawar is the President of the British Bangladeshi Practicing Barristers Association and he practices law from Great James Street Chambers near Chancery Lane in Central London. Anawar's chambers are listed in the Legal 500 directory of 'Who's Who in the Law', and he has been involved in many high profile legal cases.

Anawar is regarded as a leading Barrister and an expert on public law, complex financial arrangements and contentious litigation. Anawar previously sat on the Access to the Bar Committee of the General Council of the Bar. He is a former Director of the British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and a Director of the UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry.

Anawar is regularly invited to give lectures and seminars throughout the UK on law and current affairs.

Anawar's wife is solicitor and she runs her own law firm.

Welwyn Hatfield is a wonderfully diverse community but he knows that people there face many challenges. If he enters Parliament he would work hard for all those in Welwyn Hatfield.

Anawar says he wants to see a Welwyn Hatfield where every child can dream a valid dream and where every pensioner can lead a dignified life. Anawar wants to see happy homes, healthy families and hopeful futures in Welwyn Hatfield.
