Rebecca is proud to be the Parliamentary Candidate for her home town and a Redditch Borough Councillor. Determined to improve her community she is committed to fighting for greater fairness for local people. Rebecca has always lived in Redditch, growing up in Church Hill and attending local schools where she met her husband Paul.

Raising skills, aspiration and pride is a central aim for Rebecca for the future of Redditch. Through her work on the council she has been tackling youth unemployment and by working in partnership with local businesses Redditch now has 50 new apprentices.

Inadequate mental health provision and fighting for services at the Alex are issues close to Rebecca's heart. As co-founder and Vice Chair of the Redditch Mental Health Action Group local people have come together to tackle stigma and improve services. As the eldest of four, Rebecca remembers trundling on buses and trains with mum & a growing number of siblings when Redditch had no maternity services. She is adamant Redditch must keep maternity at the Alex.

Teaching in adult learning she enjoys helping people reach their potential, many of whom have not had a positive experience of education. Rebecca maintains that supporting people to develop the tools they need to make the best of their lives is very rewarding.

She and Paul enjoy volunteering for a local charity who help young homeless people and walking their Labrador together. Rebecca is most proud of her longstanding relationships in life notably Paul, Mum, family and friends and being a part of such a giving community.
