Kelly-Marie Blundell

Kelly-Marie Blundell, an active member of Guildford Liberal Democrats and a high-profile member of the Liberal Democrat national party, is your candidate for the 2015 General Election.

Always passionate about politics and liberalism, Kelly-Marie became active in the Liberal Democrats in order to engage more people in politics. Her passion and enthusiasm led to her being elected to represent members on the Federal Policy Committee and the Social Liberal Forum. She has campaigned to change the NHS bill and protect Sheltered Housing, as well as upholding rights in employment and immigration.

Kelly-Marie is currently working as a fund-raising manager for a national charity, delivering direct mail campaigns. She read Law at the University of Kent, and worked in Employment Law for several years before moving into charity fundraising. Her legal experience has not gone to waste, and she is a Union Official protecting the rights of employees in the charity sector.

Kelly-Marie is keen to promote access to politics and works hard to help ensure more women and people with disabilities are represented. Having battled with the long term condition Fibromyalgia, Kelly-Marie is currently the Vice-Chair of the Lib Dem Disability Association and a well known advocate for equality for people with disabilities, working to improve conditions for people across the country.

Kelly-Marie has strong press experience, writing for the Huffington Post and The Guardian’s Comment is Free as well as Liberal Democrat websites. Her blog ‘Political Parry’ was shortlisted for best Liberal Democrat Blog in 2011.

Kelly-Marie has a strong record of action in Guildford and nationally. Her husband works at University of Surrey and, since moving to Guildford, Kelly-Marie has put down strong roots.
