Coventry North East, Colleen Fletcher

Born and raised in Wyken in Coventry North East, I was educated at Richard Lee primary and Lyng Hall Comprehensive School. Later, I attended Henley College. I am married with two grown up sons.

Brought up in an active political family, I have been a member of the Labour Party for over 40 years. My Trades Union membership spans over a similar time. My working life started at the GEC in Coventry and my latest employment was with Orbit Housing Group as a Customer Services Officer. I have been a Councillor on Coventry City Council for 13 years, and I currently represent Upper Stoke Ward which is in Coventry North East Constituency. On the Council, I have been a Cabinet Member for Community Safety also Chair of various other committees, currently I am the head of Scrutiny Co-Ordination, and I chair the Labour Group. I have always been active in the Labour Party and have held office almost continually throughout my political life. Currently, I am a member of the National Policy Forum and am an officer of the West Midlands Regional Board.
