Roy Wood
Crewe & Nantwich

Roy Wood

Roy has been an active Lib Dem campaigner for many years and has stood for Parliament three times previously, including in Crewe & Nantwich in 2010. As constituency chair and a key member of his local team, Roy has ensured unbroken Lib Dem representation in his community for 42 years.

Following University, Roy worked as a systems analyst before retraining as a secondary mathematics teacher. He is currently chair of governors of a Primary school and a governor of a Children’s Centre. His wide experience of education has confirmed his belief that every child can succeed given the right support and that the education of the whole person is as important as examination results.

Roy's other interests include environmental affairs (he was a founder member of Wirral LA21 Forum) as well as sports, playing tennis regularly and keeping fit by personally delivering 5000 Focus' a year.

His key message to voters is that Liberal Democrats, by joining the coalition government, have made a really positive difference to Britain by demonstrating that coalitions can work, by creating stability and enacting policies that have dramatically improved our economy and by putting many exciting Lib Dem policies into practice.
