Peter Hirst
Congleton

Peter is campaigning to be the next MP for Congleton, having secured over 32% of the vote in 2010 and believes that he offers the only credible alternative to the present one.

He is a Council Member of Unlock Democracy and a member of The Electoral Reform Society, Amnesty, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, The Woodland Trust, Practical Action, Global Justice Now (formerly The World Development Movement), The Soil Association and English Heritage.

Peter lives in Middlewich within the Congleton constituency with his wife Kate.

He has been a town councillor for 15 years and was a Congleton Borough Councillor from 1999 – 2002.

He is an active member of Middlewich Vision, the local campaign to reopen Middlewich station and Congleton Sustainability Group.

He enjoys attending cultural events of which there are many in the constituency.

His interests include the environment, political reform, education, health, transport and energy.

He enjoys gardening, walking and photography.
