Douglas had a proper job in business before politics, working in television and then fund management. Douglas’ priority is to improve our area. He believes that he is answerable first and foremost to local people in Essex - not to the Westminster establishment. Douglas is prepared to ruffle feathers when local people expect it. Douglas has been campaigning to get Britain out of the European Union for all his adult life – and is determined we get the chance to vote to leave in 2017. Married to Clementine, with a daughter, Douglas is keen on swimming, running and gardening.
