Stephen Fenn
Chorley

Stephen has lived in the Chorley area for more than 20 years and currently lives in Clayton Brook. He is a member of Clayton-le-Woods Parish Council and Stephen has also been a member of Chorley Borough Council, where he was deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat group as well as Whittle-le-Woods Parish Council.

Currently, Stephen is a school governor at Mayfield Special School in Chorley and he works as a systems analyst. He previously worked as a teacher, paint chemist and newspaper editor.

As well as living in the constituency Stephen also stood for Parliament in Chorley for the Liberal Democrats in the last General Election. Having campaigned for many years in Chorley he knows many of the issues that affect local residents throughout the area.

He is chair of his local PACT (Police And Communities Together) meetings and so is well aware of many of the issues regarding crime and community safety that the people of Chorley are concerned about. He has also built up a good relationship with the local police.

Stephen and the local Liberal Democrats are opposed to the Labour plans to try and turn Chorley in to a Unitary authority. He is not opposed to Unitary Authorities in principle but believe that Chorley is not large enough to be sustainable as a Unitary Authority and that the money that the Labour controlled Borough Council intend spending on this could be better spent on improving amenities for local residents.
