Jason Zadrozny
Ashfield

Jason Zadrozny is a well-known and experienced local campaigner in Ashfield and Eastwood.

Over recent years he has campaigned on many local issues. These have included;

Campaigning to reduce crime across the area.
Fighting to save local green fields from development.
Collecting thousands of signatures for improving local highways and infrastructures.
At the 2010 general election, Jason Zadrozny and the Lib Dems came an incredibly close second to the Labour Party with a massive 17.2% swing. Labour’s majority plummeted from over 10,000 to just 192. The Conservatives were a very distant third. The Lib Dems have a real chance of winning the ultra-marginal Ashfield and Eastwood at the next general election.

As the former leader of Ashfield District Council, Jason understands the many problems and issues facing local residents, and he has a strong record of fighting for change locally. Jason is concerned that the average local wage is relatively low and that local jobs are often underpaid. He is pleased Lib Dems in government are committed to taking low paid workers out of tax. Jason supports the policy of workers paying no Income Tax on the first £10,000 they earn, meaning most residents in Ashfield and Eastwood are around £700 per year better off.

Jason was born and brought up in Ashfield, he has lived locally all his life. Jason has represented Sutton-in-Ashfield North on both Ashfield District and Nottinghamshire County Council’s since 2007, being re-elected to the ward five times.

Jason knows that Ashfield has suffered from politicians who use the area to further their own political career and he believes that Ashfield and Eastwood needs a local campaigner who lives in the area and will fight for local people and their services.
